Precision Guesswork Technologies LLC (“PGT,” “we”) builds local-first, privacy-first software. In plain terms: we collect almost nothing, we never sell your data, and we keep every business’s data walled off from every other. This policy covers this website, the FireLine app, and the Tinker time-tracking service.

This website

Our website is a static site. It does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers, and it does not collect personal information as you browse.

The only way the site sends us anything is if you choose to email us or send a message through the contact form. If you do, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it solely to reply to you. We don’t add you to a list or share your message.

The FireLine app

FireLine collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no accounts, ads, or trackers. It does not require an internet connection to work.

• Microphone (optional): If you use the voice feature to set a timer by speaking, the audio is processed entirely on your device by an offline speech recognizer bundled in the app. Your voice is never recorded to a file, never stored, and never transmitted. It’s turned into text on the fly and immediately discarded. If you never tap the mic, the microphone is never accessed, and you can deny or revoke the permission and still use the app fully by hand.
• Your timers (names, durations, chosen alert sounds) are saved locally on your device so they survive closing the app or restarting your phone. This never leaves your device, and uninstalling the app removes it.
• Notifications & background operation: FireLine uses a notification and a foreground service only to keep your timers running and able to alert you while the app is backgrounded or your screen is locked. No personal data is involved.

The Tinker service

Tinker is our hosted staff time-tracking service for businesses (used from a browser at tinker.precisionguessworktech.com). Unlike FireLine, it necessarily stores some information in order to track hours for a business. Tinker tracks hours, not money. It never collects pay rates, wages, tax information, or bank or card numbers.

• Business & account details: the business name and workspace address; an admin’s name, email, optional phone, and password (stored only as a secure hash); an employee’s name, email, and personal clock-in passkey (also stored only as a secure hash).
• Time records: clock-in and clock-out timestamps. Hours are derived from these; corrections leave a record rather than silently overwriting history.
• Location (optional): if the device allows it, the location at the moment of a punch, used only to tag where it happened. If location is denied or unavailable, the clock still works and no location is stored.

Each business’s data is walled off and isolated from every other business, and is visible only to that business’s own administrators. Data is encrypted in transit. We do not sell it, and we share it only as needed to run the service (for example, the infrastructure that stores it) or where required by law. A business owner agrees to this policy when they create a Tinker workspace. The full, Tinker-specific policy is always available at tinker.precisionguessworktech.com/privacy.

No sale of personal data

We do not and will not sell your personal information.

Third parties

There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services in our website or apps. The one exception is ordinary infrastructure: the Tinker service runs on hosting and database providers that store its data on our behalf so the service can operate. We do not share your information with anyone else, except where required by law.

Your rights

For this website and the FireLine app there is nothing stored on our servers for us to look up, export, or delete. Any message you email us, you may ask us to delete at any time, and data FireLine keeps on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.

For Tinker, you can correct or delete your information: contact your business’s administrator, or reach us at the address below and we’ll help. An employee may decline location sharing at any time in their browser.

Children

Our products are general-purpose tools and are not directed to children under 13.
